Frequently Asked Questions

How does usage-based pricing work?

Each plan includes a base capacity (memory objects, context builds, API calls). If you stay within your plan's capacity, you pay only the base subscription. If you exceed it, you're charged a transparent per-unit rate for the overage. You can set spending limits to prevent surprises.

Can I set a spending limit?

Yes. In your dashboard, you can set a monthly spending cap. When you reach it, we'll notify you and you choose whether to increase it or wait until next month. We never charge beyond your cap without your explicit approval.

What happens if I hit my limits on the Free plan?

On the Free plan, API calls are rate-limited when you reach the daily cap. Your data is never deleted. Upgrade to Pro to remove limits and enable usage-based scaling.

Can I use Durbl for free forever?

Yes. The Free plan is permanent — not a trial. It's designed for experimentation, prototyping, and small personal projects.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan requires no payment information. You'll only need a card when upgrading to a paid plan.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Yes. Pro, Team, and Scale plans all include a 14-day free trial with full features and full capacity.

Can I self-host instead of paying?

Yes. The core engine is source-available. You can self-host it for your own internal use at no cost. Durbl Cloud provides managed hosting, the dashboard, advanced features, and support.

Do you offer annual billing?

Yes. Annual plans save 20% compared to monthly billing. Contact us for annual pricing.

Where is my data stored?

Durbl Cloud stores data in EU data centers (Frankfurt). Enterprise customers can choose their data region. Self-hosted customers control their own data location entirely.

Can I switch plans?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. Changes take effect immediately with prorated billing.

Do you offer startup discounts?

We're building a startup program. If you're an early-stage company, reach out — we want to support builders.
